Synopsys Inc. (SNPS) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $0.66 after the bell Wednesday, up from $0.53 a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.63. The company expects to report third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.53 to $0.55 and between $2.37 and $2.42 for the full year 2013. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.57 and $2.40. The stock is now up 1.25 on 14K shares.
Synopsys traded to the downside for the majority of the afternoon Wednesday and finished lower by 0.37 at $35.40. The stock closed near the middle of a 3-week range.
