Trailer For New 'Wolverine' Movie Out

The first official trailer for the upcoming "The Wolverine" movie has been released.

The new clip begins with Wolverine, born James Howlett and known as Logan, played by Hugh Jackman, waking from a nightmare in which he has impaled Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) with his retractable claws.

"The Wolverine" departs from the plot of its predecessor, 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," as this chapter sees Wolverine going to Japan, where his mutant powers of healing are taken away. That leaves him vulnerable and prone to injury against ninjas, warriors and comic book arch-nemisis The Silver Samurai.

The film, directed by James Mangold ("Walk The Line") and loosely based on the 1982 comic book series "Wolverine" by Chris Claremont and artist Frank Miller, hits theaters July 26. The film also stars Japanese actress Rila Fukushima as well as Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.
