CBS Orders 'Bad Teacher' Sitcom

CBS has ordered a remake of the 2011 film "Bad Teacher" for adaptation to television. The film featured Cameron Diaz in the role of the maleficent educator, while the series, according to USA Today, will feature Ari Graynor ("The Sopranos," "Fringe") in the lead part.

Kristin Davis ("Sex and the City") and Sara Gilbert("Roseanne"), David Alan Grier ("In Living Color"), Ryan Hansen ("Veronica Mars") and Sara Rodier have been announced in co-starring roles.

"Bad Teacher," adapted for television by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky ("The Office") premieres in the fall of 2013.

According to Buddy TV, the series is the sixth new comedy ordered by CBS for the 2013-2014 slate. The five others are "Mom," "We Are Men," "The Millers," "The Crazy Ones" and "Friends with Better Lives."
