Chris Cornell says that inducting Heart into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this spring was a profound experience. The Soundgarden frontman discussed the event in a recent Q & A with fans hosted by HBO.

"Inducting Heart into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was an eye-opening experience," Cornell explained. "I was certainly honored, but had always had a cynical attitude about an institution like this as it pertains to rock 'n' roll in general. The fan support of all the bands inducted and their emotional enthusiasm changed everything for me."

Cornell added that, should the day come when Soundgarden makes the HOF, he'd like to be inducted by KISS frontman, Gene Simmons.

The singer, who recently reunited with Soundgarden, is on the road with the band until the end of May.
