A.G. Lafley Rejoins Procter & Gamble As CEO; McDonald Retiring

Procter & Gamble Co. (PG) said Thursday that Alan George Lafley has rejoined the company as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Lafley has also been elected to the Board of Directors and will serve as its Chairman.

Lafley succeeds Robert McDonald, who is retiring from the company on June 30 after 33 years of service.

Lafley joined Procter & Gamble in 1977 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2000 to 2009.

McDonald joined Procter & Gamble in 1980 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to 2013.

The company confirmed its fiscal year and fourth quarter guidance, as stated in the recent third quarter earnings release on April 24.
