The popular e-mail management app Mailbox, developed by Orchestra Inc., has been updated to be compatible with Apple's iPad.

Orchestra disclosed the news of the update through its official blog. "You asked, we listened. Mailbox is now available for iPad, so you can swipe your way to inbox zero on all your iOS devices," Orchestra's brief blog read. Mailbox can be downloaded for free from Apple's App Store.

The iOS application, which now only works with Gmail accounts, was launched in February with a reservation system, which made thousand of users to wait in line to use the application. Only 6 weeks after its launch, the app recorded 1 million reservations. However, a month ago, Mailbox pulled down the reservation system and became available for everyone.

Mailbox helps users organize their e-mail accounts and keep "inbox zero," as Orchestra terms it. Users of mailbox can quickly archive, delete or put e-mails in lists by just using few swipes.

In March 2013, Mailbox was acquired by Dropbox Inc., owners of the service Dropbox. The company had then said that Dropbox will help the company to grow and to include support for more e-mail providers and mobile devices.

"Rather than grow Mailbox on our own, we've decided to join forces with Dropbox and build it out together. To be clear, Mailbox is not going away. The product needs to grow fast, and we believe that joining Dropbox is the best way to make that happen," Mailbox said in its blog.
