Mickey Sumner, daughter of music icon Sting, is garnering rave reviews for her appearance in the new indie movie Frances Ha.
Directed by Noah Baumbach (Greenberg, The Squid and the Whale) and set in New York City, Frances Ha tells the story of a dancer (played by Greta Gerwig, who wrote the screenplay with Baumbach), who must make some big life choices after her roommate (Sumner) moves out.
Entertainment Weekly writes that Sumner is "an ace with deadpan one-liners," in the film. The picture has also netted strong reviews from the The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
Sumner has previously starred in Missed Connections, Last Chance Harvey and This Is Not an Umbrella. She'll next appear as the legendary Patti Smith in the upcoming movie CBGB, centered around the famed NYC punk-rock club.
