MuttNation, the animal charity run by Miranda Lambert, is chipping in to help the victims of the devastating tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma earlier this week.

The Foundation is on the scene helping families by taking care of their pets while they get their lives sorted out. According to local news source KOTV-TV, Lambert was invited to the scene by the state's Secretary of Agriculture.

The twister destroyed several homes, struck two local elementary schools and left 24 dead. It's not clear how many pets were injured or killed in the storm.

"I'm so proud that MuttNation Foundation can help even a little," Lambert posted on her Facebook page on Thursday.

MuttNation, according to its Facebook page, is a "a donation-supported organization working to end pet suffering and homelessness in the U.S. and abroad."
