A section of China's second West-to-East natural gas pipeline in east China's Jiangxi Province exploded on Sunday, injuring at least two people, the state news agency Xinhua reported.
The news agency said that the explosion occurred at an industrial zone in Shangli county, 300 meters away from a highway service station. The heat wave of the explosion downed several people hundreds of meters away.
Xinhua quoted a local official saying that following the explosion, gas supply through the exploded pipeline stopped and relevant government agencies started investigation of the explosion.
The exploded pipeline belongs to the second line of China's West-to-East natural gas pipeline program that transports gas from the central Asia to south China.
