Canadian telecommunications company Telus Corp. (TU,T.TO, T_A.TO) announced that it is investing $1 billion in new infrastructure and facilities across B.C. this year, part of a three-year, $3 billion commitment made a year ago and building upon the $29 billion TELUS has already invested in operations and technology throughout the province since 2000.
Separately, the company stated that it is investing $17 million across Manitoba in 2013 to bring customers in the province the world's fastest and most advanced wireless technology, called 4G Long Term Evolution or LTE. By end of year, the company will have injected $380 million into Manitoba's economy through infrastructure investments and operations since 2000.
