Daktronics Swings To Profit In Q4 But Below Street

Daktronics Inc.(DAKT) Wednesday reported a profit for the fourth quarter versus a loss last year helped by improved sales. Earnings per share however, were lower than analyst estimates.

For the quarter the firm reported net income of $1.84 million compared with a prior-year net loss of $505 thousand. On a per share basis earnings totaled $0.04 versus a loss last year of $0.01.

Four analysts on average polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings per share of $0.07 for the period. Analysts estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Net sales for the period was $124.48 million compared with $111.99 million last year. Analysts were looking for revenue of $123 million for the period.

As previously announced on Form 8-K on May 29, the company approved a regular semi-annual dividend of $0.12 per share payable June 14 to holders of record on June 3.
