Budget airline easyJet Plc (EZJ.L,ESYJY.PK) reported higher passengers and load factor for the month of May 2013.
The airline's passengers in May grew 3.4% to 5.61 million, from last year's 5.42 million, with monthly load factor edging up by 0.1 percentage points to 88.1%, from 88.0% a year before.
According to the company, the earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund, according to the company. Also, earned seats include seats provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business travel.
