Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) announced that worldwide rig count for May 2013 was 3,178, down 157 from the 3,335 counted in May 2012.
According to the company, the international rig count for May 2013 was 1,283, up 58 from the 1,225 counted in May 2012. The international offshore rig count for May 2013 was 327, up 8 from the 319 counted in May 2012.
The average U.S. rig count for May 2013 was 1,767, down 210 from the 1,977 counted in May 2012. The average Canadian rig count for May 2013 was 128, down 5 from the 133 counted in May 2012.
