Erykah Badu hit the stage for a headlining set at New York City's Governor's Ball on Saturday. The event had seen various cancellations the previous night due to poor weather. Nonetheless, the fest, held on NYC's Randall's Island, boasted performances from Kings of Leon, Kanye West and Guns N' Roses.
Erykah's fans were treated to a rare moment of relief from the rain on Friday as she rocked the festival's only tent. According to Billboard she delivered a hip-hop inspired set, performing "Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip-Hop)," in addition to classics like "On & On" and "I Want You."
Despite the best intentions to continue with the entire festival rain or shine, many of the acts scheduled for Friday were postponed by the fest's promoters. Those groups who did continue on Friday included Of Monsters and Men, Young the Giant and Feist.
Festival reps eventually canceled all remaining acts at about 9:30 pm on Friday citing "high winds and unsafe weather conditions."
