The-Dream was joined by Gary Clark Jr. and the Roots for a performance of "Too Early" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The song is a cut from Dream's recently released album, IV Play.

The Los Angeles Times had high praise for the collab and their live execution of the track:

"The-Dream brought a unique mixture of swagger and vulnerability to his performance; the moment near the end when his voice cracks is heartbreaking in all the right ways."

Global Grind added that The-Dream smartly kept the performance about the music not about showmanship: "Even though he kept his outfit pretty casual, the sound was all that needed to be heard to feel the gorgeous vibes of the hit-maker."

IV Play debuted on the Billboard 200 at number 16 this week after selling 22,000 copies in the first week of its release.
