Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SON.L,SNE) announced that the PlayStation (PS4) entertainment system will be available this holiday season in North America and Europe at a recommended retail price of US$399, C$399, 399 euros, and 349 pounds.
The Jet Black colored product will have a single-chip custom processor, x86-64 AMD "Jaguar" CPU with 8 cores, and a memory of 8 GB. The product has a storage size of 500 GB Hard disk drive. The system supports Ethernet and Bluetooth 2.1.
PS4 peripherals include the stand-alone Wireless Controller for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Camera.
The company also unveiled new details for PlayStation Plus, built to bring games and gamers together and fuel the next generation of gaming on the PS4 system. With a single PS Plus membership, gamers will enjoy all of the program benefits across the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita systems.
PlayStation's cloud gaming services will be available in 2014 beginning in the United States.
