Republic Airways Holdings Inc. (RJET) said Tuesday that it generated 1.74 billion revenue passenger miles in May, a decrease of 1% from May 2012.
Capacity for the month fell 2% year-over-year to 2.06 billion available seat miles.
As a result, Republic Airways' consolidated load factor increased to 84% in May 2013 from 83% in May 2012.
Republic Airways carried 2.8 million passengers in May, an 8% increase from the prior year.
Republic Airways Holdings is an airline holding company that owns Chautauqua Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.
Frontier Airlines, a subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings, said its traffic decreased 16% to 0.9 billion revenue passenger miles in May on an 18% reduction in capacity..
As a result, Frontier Airlines's load factor increased to 91% in May 2013 from 90% in May 2012.
