The Beach Boys' 6-CD retrospective, Made in California, is due for release on Capitol Records on August 27. The set includes over 7-1/2 hours of music featuring sixty previously unreleased songs, demos, live tracks and alternate takes.
In addition to the musical content, the package is done as a high school yearbook with a reproduction of an essay Brian Wilson wrote as a student in 1959 called "My Philosophy."
"This box set captures the evolution of a dream which started with a family singing Everly Brothers songs around a piano, to creating the harmonies that fans would carry in their hearts for a lifetime," said Mike Love in a presser.
Previously unreleased tracks include "Goin' to the Beach," "California Feelin'," "Soul Searchin'" and "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," "You're Still a Mystery" and many more.
