The Canadian dollar that advanced against its major rivals just ahead of the North American session erased some of its gains shortly in the session.
The loonie slipped to 1.0186 against the greenback and 94.49 against the yen from previous highs of 1.0155 and 95.34, respectively.
The Canadian currency also dropped to 1.3549 against the euro around 9:45 am ET from previous peak of 1.3482.
