Yahoo Buys GhostBird Software

Photography apps developer GhostBird Software said Wednesday that it has been acquired by Internet giant Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO).

Terms of the deal weer not disclosed.

"As photography enthusiasts, we are long-time admirers of Flickr, and we're thrilled to be able to bring our technology and passion for beautiful photos to the Flickr team. There has been so much exciting progress at Yahoo! as they re-imagine their most-loved products for mobile, including the awesome new Flickr apps for iOS and Android," GhostBird Software said in a statement.

GhostBird Software also said it will not continue to update tKitCam or PhotoForge2 apps as future versions of iOS are released.

As of Wednesday, KitCam and PhotoForge2 are no longer available for download from Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) App Store, the company said.

Yahoo shares closed Wednesday's regular trading session at $25.89, down 51 or 1.93%, and lost an additional 4 cents in after hours trading.
