Wincanton Turns To Profit For Full Year, But No Dividend For Now

Wincanton PLC (WIN.L) Thursday reported profit for the full year, despite decline in revenue. Board however believes it is not appropriate to pay dividend at this time, as the focus is more on reducing debts.

Profit for the year was 18.3 million pounds or 15.8 pence per share versus loss of 102.4 million pounds or 89.3 pence per share same period last year.

On underlying basis, earnings per share was 20.4 pence per share versus 16.9 pence per share prior year.

Profit before tax stood at 24.8 million pounds, compared to loss of 47.4 million pounds same period last year.

Revenue declined to 1.09 billion pounds from 1.20 billion pounds in the year-gao period.

The company said in a statement that it expects to make further progress during the coming year.
