New orders received by Slovakia's industrial firms surged in April from a year earlier, data published by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Friday.
The value of new orders in April rose 8.1 percent year-on-year. After seasonal adjustment, new orders grew 8.5 percent compared with March 2013.
Total orders amounted to EUR 3.8 billion in April, according to the statistical office. In the January-April period, new orders recorded a growth of 3 percent from a year earlier.
