Paul McCartney took over The Colbert Report for a special hour-long episode earlier this week.

During the interview portion of the show, McCartney talked about his time with the Beatles, the early days of his band Wings, and the reissue of his 1976 album Wings Over America, telling Colbert of his band's beginnings: "There were times I was begrimed."

McCartney then performed a six song set, including "I've Just Seen A Face," "Hi Hi Hi," "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite!," "Listen To What The Man Said," "Lady Madonna," and "Birthday," which he dedicated to "anyone who has a birthday during the entire year."

McCartney's Out There tour is underway, with performances at the Bonaroo Festival, in Europe, and in the U.S. scheduled through the end of July.
