Rage Against The Machine, Mumford & Sons and U2 are among the top acts lending their talents to agit8, the campaign led by Bono looking to raise awareness of poverty.
The campaign was launched by Bono's anti-poverty organization, ONE, and includes various artists covering protest songs. RATM guitarist Tom Morello did an acoustic version of his Nightwatchman song, "Flesh Shapes the Day," while Mumford and the boys teamed up with Elvis Costello for a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Ghost of Tom Joad."
"The song I'm playing for you now is not for the G8, it's for the G-rest of us," says Morello in the video posted at ONE's website.
"[It's] a reminder that the wheel of history is in your hands. It's what we do or fail to do during our time [that] will determine what sort of world we give to our children."
