UK House Price Index Rises 1.2% In June - Rightmove

The average asking price for a house in the United Kingdom was up 1.2 percent on month in June, property tracking website Rightmove said on Monday - after rising 2.1 percent in May.

The average asking price was GBP252,798 and it marked the first time ever that the average price topped GBP250,000.

Prices have surged 10 percent in the past six months, Rightmove said.

On a yearly basis, prices added 2.7 percent, up from 2.5 percent in the previous month.

By region, prices in the London area came in at a record GBP515.243.

Prices in East Anglia, Wales, Yorkshire and the north-east saw mild decreases.
