Tom Stilwell, a 20-year-old British man, fell out of a 15th story window of an Auckland, New Zealand apartment building, but, according to medical officials, is in "satisfactory" condition and improving, reports the New Zealand Herald.
The young man fell after trying to get into his locked apartment. In the fall he fractured his neck and back, broke his wrist and suffered internal injuries.
"He looks alright," his roommate, Beth Goodwin, told the BBC. "It's more internal injuries. He's broken some bones in his ribs and neck but they're not important bones."
After a night out with pals, Stilwell returned to his apartment only to find himself locked out. So, he knocked on his upstairs neighbor's apartment door, asking her if she'd let him climb from her balcony onto his. While performing the delicate maneuver, Stilwell slipped and fell 15 floors before landing on a roof below.
