Samsung To Launch Galaxy S4 With LTE Advanced

Samsung is reportedly planning to launch another variant of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S4, which boasts of Advanced LTE technology.

J.K. Shin, Samsung's co-chief executive, in an interview with Reuters said, "We'll be the first with the commercial launch of the advanced 4G version of the smartphone."

Shin said the phone will be launched in South Korea as early this month, and the company is also in talks with several overseas carriers to take the phone. LTE, or Long Term Evolution, Advanced technology is said to transmit data at rates nearly double the normal 4G speed. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm processors.

According to Samsung, a movie which normally takes 3 minutes to download on traditional 4G network will only take slightly more than 1 minute on the advanced network.

Since the launch of its flagship model Galaxy S4 in March, Samsung has unveiled several variations of the model, including S4 mini, a smaller version, S4 Active, a rugged dust-and-water proof variant, and S4 Zoom, a smartphone that boasts of a 16 mega pixel camera.
