Mellanox Technologies Ltd.(MLNX) announced that it has appointed Irwin Federman as its non-executive chairman of the company's board of directors. Federman has served as a member of Mellanox's Board of Directors since its inception in June 1999, and is currently the company's lead director.
Federman has been a general partner of U.S. Venture Partners, a venture capital firm, since April 1990. From 1988 to 1990, he was a managing director of Dillon Read & Co., an investment banking firm, and a general partner in its venture capital affiliate, Concord Partners.
From 1978 to 1987, Federman served as president and chief executive officer of Monolithic Memories, Inc., a semiconductor company which was acquired by AMD in 1987. Federman serves on the board of directors of SanDisk Corporation, a data storage company, Check Point Software Technologies Ltd., an Internet security software company and several private companies.
Federman served as chairman of the Semiconductor Industry Association for two terms, served on the board of directors of the National Venture Capital Association and served two terms on the Dean's Advisory Board of Santa Clara University.
