Adept Technology, Inc. (ADEP), a provider of intelligent robots and autonomous mobile solutions, Tuesday said it has received a total order of $2.6 million from CASTEC International Corp., Taiwan for robotics to be used in high precision workcells for a provider of semiconductor manufacturing services.
The workcells will utilize Adept Cobra robots, motion control and integrated vision to automate the sub assembly of smart phone electronics.
The Adept Cobra SCARA robots are affordable, high-performance SCARA robot systems for applications such as mechanical assembly, material handling, packaging, machine tending and screw driving, which require fast and precise automation.
Adept's motion control technology can be used as an addition to an existing robot or as a stand-alone system.
