Sony has unveiled the release dates for the third and fourth iterations of the "Amazing Spider-Man" films. The third will hit June 10, 2016, while the fourth will hit May 4, 2018.
"Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most beloved franchise," said Sony Pictures vice chairman Jeff Blake, "so we're thrilled that we are in a position to lock in these prime release dates over the next five years."
The first movie raked in more than $750 million worldwide.
The second film, meanwhile, will see Andrew Garfield return as Peter Parker; it is currently in production in New York and due in theaters May 2, 2014. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner.
