At 4.30 am ET Wednesday, the Bank of England is set to release the minutes of the final policy meeting of Governor Mervyn King, held on June 5 and 6. The Monetary Policy Committee maintained the size of quantitative easing at GBP 375 billion and the key interest rate at a record low 0.50 percent.
Ahead of the release, the pound showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the pound rose against the franc and the euro, it steady against the greenback. Against the yen, the pound fell.
As of 4:25 am ET, the pound was worth 1.5656 against the greenback, 1.4394 against the franc, 148.62 against the yen and 0.8559 against the euro.
