Firefighters removed a cow from a car inspection pit after it fell from a garage roof in the UK.

It is unknown how the 18-month-old animal even got on the roof of the farm building. It was stuck in the pit for almost 24-hours, media sources report.

The animal's owner was the one to report the incident after he discovered the missing cow.

It took rescue crews close to three hours before lifting the cow from the tight space, UK's The Independent reports. A community safety protection manager for Fire and Rescue Service explained how they saved the cow,. He said, "Lines were then attached to the cow and, when everything was in place, crews worked together to heave the cow out of the inspection pit. Thanks to the pre-planning and good teamwork, the cow came out the pit fairly easily," UK's The Independent reports.

A vet was also on the scene of the unusual incident to inspect the animals health. After it was determined to be in good condition, the cow was set free in the pasture.
