A Minnesota mother and her son are both facing criminal charges this week after allegedly stealing and selling $5,000 worth of frozen gopher feet.

Tina Marie Garrison, 37, and Junior Lee Dillon, 18, both of Preston, have been charged with felony receiving stolen property and theft, and gross misdemeanor receiving stolen property and theft, reports the area's Post Bulletin.

The court filings against Garrison and Dillon state that a local gopher trapped in Preston filed a police report for multiple stolen bags of gopher feet from his freezer between November and December of 2012. The plaintiff himself contacted authorities in several nearby towns that offer rewards for gopher feet as a measure to control populations.

According to the Post Bulletin, records showed that both Garrison and Dillon had turned in several thousand dollars worth of the feet. When interviewed the paper about the accusations earlier this year Dillon claimed that his named had been forged on the submission forms.
