UK-based infrastructure services company Balfour Beatty plc (BBY.L) said its professional services division, Parsons Brinckerhoff, received a contract worth 56 million pounds from the Public Works Authority of Qatar. The contract calls for pre tender and post tender professional consulting services for the Qatar Expressway programme.
The contract, which will form part of the major highways infrastructure in the state of Qatar, comprises the detailed design of about 16 miles of divided highway with grade separated interchanges and bridges.
Following detailed design, the company will offer professional services associated with the tender stage, followed by contract administration and construction supervision on behalf of Public Works Authority. The estimated construction cost for the project is over $1 billion.
