At 4.30 am ET Thursday, the Office for National Statistics is due to release the UK's retail sales figures for the month of May. Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the pound held steady against the greenback, it advanced against the rest of the major currencies.
As of 4:25 am ET, the pound was worth 1.5427 against the greenback, 151.42 against the yen, 0.8562 against the euro and 1.4387 against the franc.
