The New Zealand dollar fell sharply against its U.S. and European rivals around 4:15 am ET Thursday.
The kiwi reached a 9-day low of 1.6985 against the euro, reversing from Wednesday's 2-day high of 1.6619.
The kiwi reached 0.7776 against the greenback for the first time since June 11. A collapse below 0.776 level for the pair will set its lowest level in a year.
