Slovenia's producer price inflation weakened for the third consecutive month in May, data released by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia showed Thursday.

The producer price index increased 0.2 percent on an annual basis in May, following the previous month's 0.5 percent gain. The rate of growth eased for the third month in a row.

Contributing to the deceleration, mining and quarrying prices decreased 0.2 percent from May 2012. Meanwhile, prices in the manufacturing sector rose 0.2 percent and costs of electricity edged up 0.1 percent.

Output prices on the non-domestic market moved up 0.3 percent from a year earlier, and those in the domestic market edged up by 0.1 percent.

Month-on-month, the producer price index declined 0.2 percent in May, reversing the previous month's 0.1 percent increase.
