Google Inc. (GOOG) Pulled Back After Q2 Profit Fell Short

Google Inc. (GOOG) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $9.56 after the close Thursday, down from $10.16 last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $10.78. Total revenues were $14.11 billion, up 19 percent from $11.81 billion last year, while 28 analysts expected revenues of $14.42 billion.

Google gapped open sharply lower Friday, but regained some ground during the middle portion of the morning. The stock finished with a loss of 14.08 at $896.60, with volume at a 9-month high. Google fell to a week and a half low.
