Authorities in Washington, D.C. arrested a man early Wednesday morning following a police stand-off which began on Tuesday night.
The Washington Post reports that authorities tried to serve an arrest warrant to David Joseph Robertson, 25, at his home in Washington, D.C.'s Capitol Hill neighborhood at approximately 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
When authorities arrived at his home, Robertson allegedly refused to open the door and then barricaded himself inside. In response, hostage-negotiation and SWAT teams were sent to the residence.
Police then blocked off the area for several hours while they tried to get Robertson to vacate the premises.
Local television station WJLA reports that at around 8:30 a.m. Robertson left his house and was arrested. He had been wanted for assaulting a police officer. The blocked off area was reopened shortly after.
