United August Traffic Falls 0.5%

United Airlines, a unit of United Continental Holdings, Inc. (UAL), said Monday that its August consolidated traffic fell 0.5% year-over-year to 19.5 billion revenue passenger miles, while its capacity for the month fell 1.4% to 22.2 billion available seat miles.

As a results, United's consolidated load factor for August 2013 increased 0.8 points to 87.4% from 86.6% in August 2012.

United's August 2013 consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile increased an estimated 3.5% to 4.5% compared to August 2012.
