Adam Sandler is in talks to join "The Cobbler," an indie drama from director Tom McCarthy ("The Station Agent," "The Visitor"). Should he sign on, Sandler would be starring in the first serious role in some time.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film tells the story of a shoemaker who can magically step into the lives of the customers' shoes he repairs.
Most of the film's details remain unknown, such as the type of activities the cobbler engages in, while occupying the lives of others.
Once Sandler finishes work on "The Cobbler," he'll begin working in Jason Reitman's latest film, "Men, Women & Children." Before either of those pictures, however, he will film the upcoming Frank Coraci romantic comedy "The Familymoon."
