Matthew Perry Confirmed For 'Odd Couple' Reboot

Matthew Perry has reportedly signed on to appear in a upcoming reboot of "The Odd Couple." The "Friends" star will star as Oscar Madison in the reboot's CBS series which has also acquired lead writer Danny Jacobson ("Mad About You").

The new series will mark the second version of the franchise on television and follows the 1970-75 series starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. Thus far no details about plot changes or additional cast has been revealed by CBS.

Prior to this new series of "The Odd Couple," there has been a 1965 play as well as a 1968 film. This role for Perry follows two recent turns on the small screen, including ABC's "Mr. Sunshine" and NBC's "Go On."
