Lorne Michaels has revealed that cast changes will be in place for the upcoming 40th season of "Saturday Night Live."
Michaels admitted that the show's latest season was a difficult one due to cast changes. He told "Deadline" in an interview: "It was a hard season. We put a lot of pressure [on] a lot of new people. We're still in the middle of rebuilding. So, there will be changes this year."
He explained: "We lost four leading men at the end of last season, Fred [Armisen] and Bill [Hader] and Andy [Samberg] and Jason [Sudeikis], all of whom were very seasoned, very strong cast. [ . . . ] We lost Kristen the year before. All have been here a long time, and you get used to how good people are."
The show struggled to maintain viewership numbers last season.
