A school principal in New York City killed herself after being accused of tampering with third-grade Common Core English exams.
Jeanene Worrell-Breeden, 49, of the prestigious Teachers College Community School, jumped in front of a NYC subway train hours after her students took the exams in April.
When the results were scrutinized, she admitted to faking answers on the test, The New York Times reported.
Officials this week confirmed she was under investigation.
"Principal Worrell-Breeden was the subject of allegations of testing improprieties," Department of Education spokeswoman Devora Kaye said. "An investigation substantiated these allegations, and we closed the investigation following her tragic passing."
