Marc Rehmar was desperate to join the reunion party of his high school mates after four decades. But when he arrived at the Denver International airport, his flight was being pushed back from the gate. He was sure to miss it.
As the last resort, Rehmar, 58, opened the emergency door of the airport terminal and ran after the flight to stop it. He managed to catch the attention of the driver of the pushing vehicle and insisted on boarding the flight. But he was arrested from the tarmac on charges of endangering public transport. If convicted, he could face imprisonment of up to one year.
The incident happened on August 6, but it was revealed by the authorities later. Rehmar was in custody and released on a bond of $10,000. He will appear on a court on September 9 for hearing.
