SDL H1 Pre-tax Profit Falls - Quick Facts

SDL plc (SDL.L) reported profit before tax of 0.9 million pounds for the six months ended 30 June 2016, down sharply from 6.0 million pounds in the same period of the previous year.

Profit for the period fell to 0.5 million pounds from 3.9 million pounds in the prior year. Earnings per share were 0.63 pence, compared to 4.71 pence last year. The latest period's results include 5.9 million pounds of one-off items.

Adjusted earnings per ordinary share were 9.02 pence, compared to 7.97 pence a year ago.

Revenue for the period edged down slightly to 133.7 million pounds from 133.9 million in the prior-year period.

Looking ahead, SDL said that despite the recent upheavals in Europe following the UK's decision to leave the European Union, it is confident of the outlook for the current financial year and beyond.
