ManpowerGroup (MAN) reported earnings for its first quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line advanced to $74.4 million, or $1.09 per share. This was higher than $71.7 million, or $0.98 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.11 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.7% to $4.76 billion. This was up from $4.59 billion last year.
