Loonie Mixed Ahead Of Canada Consumer Inflation Data

Statistics Canada releases Canada inflation data for March at 8:30 am ET Friday. Inflation is expected to gain 0.4 percent on a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, compared to 0.2 percent rise in February.

Ahead of the data, the loonie traded mixed against its major rivals. While the loonie rose against the euro and the aussie, it fell against the yen. Against the greenback, it held steady.

The loonie was worth 1.3471 against the greenback, 80.97 against the yen, 1.0144 against the aussie and 1.4414 against the euro as of 8:25 am ET.
