Scholastic Corp Announces 12% Advance In Q4 Bottom Line

Scholastic Corp (SCHL) reported a profit for its fourth quarter that gained ground from last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $46.4 million, or $1.31 per share. This was up from $41.6 million, or $1.22 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.09 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.8% to $499.6 million. This was down from $513.8 million last year.
