Swiss Producer & Import Prices Rise More Than Forecast

Switzerland's producer and import prices rose more than forecast in August, data published by the Federal Statistical Office revealed Wednesday.

Producer and import prices increased 0.6 percent year-on-year in August, faster than economists' forecast of 0.4 percent.

On a monthly basis, producer and import prices climbed 0.3 percent versus the expected growth of 0.2 percent.

Data showed that producer prices fell 0.1 percent on month and by 0.5 percent from previous year. Meanwhile, import prices grew 1.1 percent on a monthly basis and advanced 2.7 percent annually.
